Modernization of a factory reporting for an industry leader in the U.A.E.

This industrial workshop, located in Dubai, specializes in design, repair and custom manufacture of leather goods for its network of shops in the Middle East.

Until then, all the management of the activity — monitoring of orders, production, stocks, margins — was carried out manually on Excel, with a multiplication of files, frequent duplicates, and a high risk of errors.

Management lacked visibility into the overall performance of the workshop, with decisions often made based on incomplete data.

Request

The customer wanted to:

  1. Have structured, centralized and reliable reporting for the monitoring of its industrial operations
  2. Drastically reduce the time spent each week compiling and checking Excel files
  3. Set up a visual tool, easy to use, adapted to a multicultural environment and to non-technical users (team leaders, management, administration)

Result

We supported the workshop in setting up several custom Power BI reports, connected to their source files (Excel and lightweight ERP), with:

  • One data structure cleaned and made reliable via Power Query
  • Interactive dashboards (order tracking, production times, margin rate per product, stock level)
  • One consolidated view in real time accessible to management, with dynamic filters (by customer, period, product)

And in figures

  • 10 to 15 hours saved each week on the production of reports
  • No duplicates and no more manual restatements
  • Better responsiveness of production and supplies
  • A more structured management that made it possible to significantly reduce store delivery times in the Gulf states.

“Power BI has completely changed the way we work. Before, we used to waste time correcting numbers; today, we understand them. The team can see at a glance what needs to be adjusted. We have gained in efficiency and peace of mind.”
